A tree’s roots merge into the sidewalk, an interesting and odd anomaly of nature.
A boy went to war in 1914 and left his bike chained to a tree. He never came home and his family left the bike there as a memorial to a fallen soldier.
The tree has literally swallowed part of the bicycle as it has grown for roughly 98 years, it is a sad story yet an amazing and interesting tribute.
I never fully realized just how huge the redwood trees actually are, this lengthwise panoramic photograph is amazing; it shows how huge the tree really is, look at the climbers posted in various spots on branches.
This is truly a majestic photograph.
[UPDATE] It has come to my attention that the climbers shown in this photo are actually a single man and the photo has been altered to show his progression. Just figured I’d let my subscribers know. Thanks for viewing, reblogging, subscribing, and liking ! Lot’s more new stuff to come.
What an awesome looking tree !
